Roger J. David
Managing Partner | Senior Financial Professional
Many clients know Roger’s story—it’s the reason he does what he does. His journey into financial services began in college after the sudden passing of his father. At just 21, Roger found himself navigating estate settlement and financial uncertainty between college classes and exams, when Rob Rinvelt stepped in to help guide his family. Working closely with Rob for more than two years, and ultimately being recruited by him, turned a personal loss into Roger’s lifelong purpose: helping others find clarity and confidence in their financial lives and creating certainty in the well-being of their families.
For more than 30 years, Roger has carried that purpose into every client relationship. When Roger earns the “yes” of clients to work with him, they’re not just choosing an advisor—they’re choosing an advocate who views their financial well‑being as a personal responsibility. His approach, as well as the way he develops and manages the firm, is rooted in “doing the math”—creating personalized plans for each client’s life story. He loves solving problems side‑by‑side with clients, ensuring they are part of the process every step of the way.
Outside of work, Roger has volunteered for more than a decade serving as the North American Chairperson for a charitable organization. He is a proud University of Michigan Ross School of Business graduate and a dedicated fanatic of UofM athletics. His greatest joy, however, comes from time spent with his wife of 32 years, Kima—often simply running errands together—and enjoying life with their three daughters, Sara, Mary, and Lily, and their three cocker spaniels, Baxter, Bailey, and Sully. Many clients have even followed along with the family’s memorable spring break road‑trips over the years.
As co‑founder and managing partner of Rinvelt & David, Roger remains a planner by trade but an advocate at heart—someone who never forgets what it feels like to be on the other side of the table.
